Interior design is the art or process of designing the interior, often including the exterior, of a room or building. An interior designer is someone who coordinates and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, communicating with the stakeholders of a project and the management and execution of the design.
Interior design is the process of shaping the experience of interior space, through the manipulation of spatial volume as well as surface treatment.
Although people often think interior decorating and interior designing are the same, they are not. Interior decorators choose the paint color for your wall, while interior designers will knock it down to alter the structure of the room. Interior decorating deals with the look and feel of a room by adding accessories like drapes and rugs; interior designers make the best use of the space.
Interior decoration is not just decorating a home but it's something very special thing for me. As a place where you live should be full of positive energy, which is possible if you look at the things which cherish you heart and peaceful & beautiful for your eyes.
When I got my first project, I was a little worried either I will be able to do my job with perfection or not, either my client will like my work or not. As I was not sure about making my in interior decoration. But when completed my first assignment even I was surprised when i finally looked at my work. That time I felt like this is it. This is what I was looking for.
Interior decorating “dresses” an existing space. It begins with a broad concept, such as postmodern, retro or traditional aesthetics, and works in the details of that style. An interior decorator typically stays with one design style from start to finish to create continuity in a space, and works with you on color selection, textures and patterns you prefer but that are consistent with the overall style concept. Redecorating a room or updating an outdated style falls under the heading of interior decorating, or use of the existing space; new construction blueprints and building permits are not in the interior decorator’s toolkit.
After that everything has changed. I love it when people smile when they look at their homes which is totally changed. Where they will not just live but would love to live in.
I have some tips and tricks for you :
1. PILE ON YOUR PILLOWS
One pair of pillows always looks skimpy. Use two pairs, in contrasting patterns, colors, and textures.
2. BUY A BIGGER BED FOR YOU
Small-scale furniture only makes a small bedroom look smaller. Try a high bed and a tall headboard. Your room will grow.
3. LEAVE CABINETS OPEN ATLEAST TRY IT ONCE
An open armoire is more interesting than a closed one. Let people into your secret world.
4. WALLPAPER IS EASY WAY
The fastest way to make over sliding closet doors is to wallpaper them, like Melissa Warner did to turn a bedroom into her office.
5. USE A REAL RUG IN THE BATHROOMS
Use a rug instead of a bath mat. It was made to withstand a lot more wear than the occasional wet foot.
