Users often complain of error messages in Outlook due to synchronization problems with Exchange Server. These messages denote several issues like Outlook cannot be opened or file not available and likewise. Thus it is most important for users to know which file is causing the error and how the Outlook synchronization problem could be resolved.

  • First, determine the OST files are synchronised or not for this follow the below-given steps
  • Go to location where Outlook OST file is stored, or open it via Outlook
  • Select the folder and right click on it
  • Select properties and then synchronization tab
  • Under the statistics check; date of synchronization, items in Offline folder, and items in Server Folder.
  • If the entries are different then it is definitely a synchronization problem

So, to fix the issue we can synchronize OST Manually or Automatic

Manual OST Synchronization

  • Open Outlook and select folder to synchronize from Folder list
  • Now go to Menu bar and select Tools 
  • Choose Send/ Receive This Folder for specific folder items
  • Next, select Send/ Receive All for synchronization of all folders

Automatic Synchronization Method

  • Start Outlook and then go to Tools>> Options 
  • Select Mail setup tab and then Send/ Recieve
  • Check-mark 'Send Immediately when connected'
  • Now Check-mark 'Perform an automatic Send/ Recieve when exiting'
  • Click close and then OK
  • The Outlook will be set for automatic synchronization 

In this way, you can remove the synchronization error in Outlook. An Easy Fix tool is also a good method to resolve the synchronization problem like scanost.exe or Outlook Repair Software.
