I am in the beginning periods of arranging and outlining a custom bookkeeping application for my firm. I will likely use an open source social database for the information stockpiling segment and I'm mindful of two strong databases that are generally upheld: MySQL and PostgreSQL.

For a framework that will require exchanges, put away systems, capacities, and security, are there any sentiments on which of these two databases would be most appropriate for a bookkeeping application or is there another database I'm absent?

I'm more acquainted with MySQL Oracle Financials and MS SQLServer 2005, however I'm endeavoring to move far from the last because of permit costs.

Give me a chance to include: This isn't a bookkeeping need like Quickbooks or Peachtree. This is essentially a framework that handles representing a particular business benefit we give. There are perhaps a few frameworks that oblige this need, are valued in the six figure run before any customization, and would require my little firm to be hitched to a seller as long as possible. Therefore, we are building the application in-house.
