WHY YOU DECIDE TO BECOME A BODYBUILDER:
I have always liked the world of bodybuilding, I went to see the national competitions from time to time, dreaming of seeing myself there one day, but the preparation it takes to be a bodybuilding kept me undecided for a long time and when I didn't even exercise.
My motivation to become a bodybuilder came with the incursion of the new Men´s Physique category in 2013, where I did decide to start the gym in the middle of that year motivated to climb on a platform, my motivation was so such, that I achieved in just eight months and a few days to debut in this environment in the Mr. Easter 2014 competition, where I achieve a 4th., place of 18 athletes who climbed and from there to here I have competed four times, being the next national event “Mr. Republica 2015 ”my fifth event to participate.
DO YOU REMEMBER THE TIME OF YOUR FIRST COMPETITION?
Clear! That first event was for me the best of all, since I remember how now they made two presets where in the first round seven athletes took out and then we were chosen by the five best and on the catwalk of that top five I remember that I felt the eyes of the public looking at me and he gave me a nervous tip in the right leg that was full with tremors and when I decided to lean on this leg on the left it gave me a slight cramp that I just thought: “I will be the first Men´s Physique to fall off his own feet in a platform, give me strength daddy God ”, but in the end I was able to control myself a bit and I finished the runway routine without a problem.
DID AN ATHLETE INSPIRE YOUR CAREER?
There are many athletes who have followed this sport long before social networks existed thanks to the magazines of that time, since as a bodybuilding lover I enjoyed the 90's a lot with the rivalries of Dorian Yates and his won titles, as well as the gigantic muscle mass of the late Mike Matarrazo, who came to the country and I saw for the first time a bodybuilder of this caliber.
One of those who has also been a source of inspiration, but already in the 2000s here, is our Dominican IFBB Pro, Víctor Martínez, whom I greatly admire for his ups and downs that he has had and even so he is a great worthy warrior Just smoke it.
TELL US A FULL DAY ON YOUR FOOD BEFORE A COMPETITION:
The day before, my main diet is pure fish and egg.
WHAT IS THE PART THAT YOU DEVELOP MORE EASILY:
I would say that the arms (biceps and triceps) I have to take it a little slow, since it grows very easily but if I neglect to make me see the small shoulder, that's why I try to give it a little pad as we say here, so as not to lose the habit.
The chest and shoulders are the most difficult for me to develop, that's why I have in my goal to improve these muscle groups considerably to look for better harmony and symmetry in my body, to look much better in my next presentations.
WHAT WAS YOUR LAST COMPETITION IN WHICH YOU PARTICIPATED AND IN WHICH POSITION YOU LEFT:
My last competition was in the 2015 Independence Cup last March, there we went up with about 14 well-prepared athletes and we did not manage to be among the top six, that's why we are more focused for this event to recover lost ground and play a better role .
WHAT ARE YOU IN NOW:
Training very hard to achieve better results in this which will be my fifth competition, with firm steps and always positive to give my best.
Getting ready for Mr. República, an event that is very promising since the enthusiasm and expectations for this competition is very high and there will be more and more new athletes who will join it.
My skills to date have been:
April 2014 (4th Place Mr. Easter "Men´s Physique category until 5.9")
August 2014 (Mr. Dominican Republic "Men´s Physique category up to 5.9")
October 2014 (4th Place Mr. Regional Norte “Men´s Physique category until 5.9”)
March 2015 (Independence Cup 2015 "Men´s Physique category until 5.9")
WORDS FOR OUR READERS:
This is a sport where age is not a factor, I started exercising at 37 and we are heading towards 40 years looking much better than before and managing to take years off life, I recommend that anyone who has a sedentary life exercises, Do this not for the rest but for yourself, that the results will not be expected and who will enjoy it the most is you, with patience and discipline you will arrive!
DO YOU THANK SOMEONE IN SPECIAL?
I want to thank God first for giving me health and being my guide, my family for their patience and above all, knowing how to take me in those moments where the lack of carbohydrates puts one in a bad mood, ha ha. Also thank all those who have given me a helping hand at the time so that I can continue in this sporting bodybuilding career today, my good friend and coach Freddy Abel Almonte who guided me throughout 2014 and was there giving the best of him for my preparation in all the competitions I was able to attend and to my Gurabo Nutrition sponsors for letting me be part of that great family of champions.
I want people to know that this is a sport where age does not matter or is of little importance, I was encouraged at 37 years of age and I am already today with almost 40 climbing with youngsters to that platform with much more time and muscle development in the gym.
You just have to do your part and do what you are going to do with a clear goal, do not be one of the bunch, get out of the ordinary and put yourself for that. If I could, why not you? Never give up and throw yourself away.
